CRANSTON REDS LEARN TO PLAY HOCKEY |
This Learn to Play Hockey program is designed for first time skaters. These sessions are the perfect place to start young hockey players. Players will be separated into groups based upon their age, size, previous hockey training (if any) and present abilities. Instructors will focus on stops, starts, crossovers, backwards skating, stick handling and shooting. Our goal is to introduce every player to the game in a positive and enjoyable learning environment so that they can not only learn the fundamentals of the game, but have a great time doing it as well. CRANSTON REDS WELCOME CLCF PLAYERS |
May 10, 2011 |
With the dissolution of the CLCF Youth Hockey organization, a 50-year tradition of youth hockey in Cranston has come to an end. Or has it? The Cranston Reds organization -- which fields the only junior team in the state and runs mite-through-midget programs -- has stepped in to offer CLCF players the continued opportunity to play locally. The Cranston Reds organization is dedicated to helping loyal CLCF players who wish to continue skating in the fall by offering professional coaching, consistent ice times, and a commitment to keep former CLCF players together.
For the CLCF community we also provide an instructional hockey program and a Learn To Play program during the same CLCF time slots right here at the Cranston Ice Rink. Our aim is to teach Cranston's youth athletes the fundamental hockey skills needed to be successful, competitive and confident hockey players.
